Thank you for
visiting our Care House web site. Our mission is simple: To come together
as a community and stand in the gap for some of the neediest yet most
deserving kids of San Diego County. Whether it is through our mentoring
program, tutoring program, outreaches throughout the year, bible club
meetings or the outreach center, we strive to serve the kids who are
living well below the poverty line.
Over the years I have heard so many heartfelt stories of teens living
in cars, shamed because they are living from one hotel to another
hotel, some having no money to clean their clothes before going to
school or tragically no money for a decent meal before they go to
bed at night.. One story that I will never forget is when several
of our kids were picked up by CPS after weeks of hiding out. Their
dad was in prison and their mom was in another state leaving them
in a very vulnerable position.
It is hard to believe that children in our beautiful city experience
homelessness. The estimates state over 2,000 children within San Diego
alone are homeless. Under served youth statistics are so much higher.
That is why Care House exists today. Who then will answer their call
for help if not you or I?
Back in June of 1990 I was at work and was asked to come into my bosses
office. I was then given the news that my husband had been killed
in an accident at work. One of my first thoughts was how will I provide
for my two children. Thankfully, there were provisions made and we
did not experience financial worries. It was then my realization how
blessed we were which led me to my commitment to reach out to those
less fortunate. It has been my life's purpose and great honor ever
since to serve these needy children.
If you are interested in getting involved it would be an honor to
speak with you as to how you can get involved at Care House. Please
continue to search on this web site for information about how you
can be a part of our wonderful family. We would be blessed to call
you our friend and allow you the opportunity to be blessed by the
children of Care House Life Ministries.
God Bless You!
