Special Projects
Care House is always working on raising funds for special events/trips. This allows the kids to have something to look forward. Whether it be a trip to Julian, an amusement park or a personal growth weekend Care House constantly has something for the kids to look towards for a special memory. If you are interested in sponsorship of a child for an event like this, please contact us at 619 840 5968 for the most current project being planned.

 

College Scholarships Awarded

The Kristen Scholarship Award
Congratulations to the following Seniors Class of 2009 on being awarded a scholarship for college next year. These funds were donated by a kind contributor of Care House, we sincerely thank and appreciate him.

We are so proud of Celeste Garcia, Lyndsey Price, Devin Whitaker, Chaz Williams and Eddie Ronquillo for their academic excellence and never give up spirit in which each student has displayed over the years at Care House.

Each of these students will receive $2500.00 to be used for their college education beginning next fall.

John Burton for Children Without Homes Grant
It is with much excitement that Care House was selected in 2009 to receive the John Burton for Children Without Homes Grant. The grants purpose will be to help feed hungry kids throughout San Diego who look to Care House for help during this trying time in their lives. We have named our program Food For Thought and are thrilled to be able to assist our children. Along with the food assistance the grant monies will help student workers from Care House learn how to run this grant funded project, allowing them excellent job experience. Thank You to the John Burton Foundation for this awesome opportunity.

AT&T CARES Program
Care House is pleased to announce we are recipients of the AT&T CARES Program. In the fall of 2008, Care House received a grant that is ear marked towards pointing our kids in the direction of a fulfilling adult career. This grant enables our teens to listen to a variety of speakers who represent a many different careers. Everything from Graphic Design/Video Creation, Nursing, Military, Fashion and much more. These workshops also include personnel representatives who will assist in job application advice and Career Counseling and assessment. Thank you to the AT&T CARES Program for this opportunity.
